Most of us are used to washing our dishes with liquid detergent, so a solid dish soap can seem confusing at first. Like, how do you use this thing? Luckily, it's very easy once you get the hang of it. We'll show you how in this blog post.
Using solid dish soap in a sink full of dishes
- Fill the sink with fast-flowing hot water
- Put the bar under the tap several times to get the water sudsy or swish with our Soap Shaker
- If dishes are lightly soiled, use the sudsy water to clean them with a scourer or kitchen brush
- If the dishes are quite soiled (dried-on food, grease etc), follow the instructions below as well
Using solid dish soap on individual items
- Rub a wet scourer or kitchen brush directly onto Dish Magic
- Wash your dishes directly with the foam
- Rinse off and drain to dry
Always allow Dish Magic to dry between uses. We like to rest ours on a wooden soap dish.
Does solid dish soap bubble like liquid detergent?
Our solid dish soap, Dish Magic, doesn’t foam in the same way typical washing-up liquid does because it’s all-natural with no synthetic surfactants but it will clean just as well! Synthetic surfactants give you lots of bubbles, whereas solid dish soaps won't. They will make quick work of the grease, though.
